The Expedition has large robust pneumatic tires that are just like bicycle tires. The Chicco travel system is the new parent preferred travel system. It comes in two different weight classes, one that will hold a child until 22 pounds while the larger system will fit a child until 30 pounds. The travel system uses the Cortina stroller and a KeyFit car seat (rated #1 car seat). Each model has about 7 different color combinations with different designs for each model. Some of the highlights include a one handed folding design even when the stroller is in full recline, a multi-position recline that has a memory function that puts the stroller back to that position after being opened up. Plus additional features such as convenient cup holders, storage compartment beneath the stroller, and adjustable handles for those who are a little bit taller. The Chicco travel system uses the Cortina stroller and includes their KeyFit car seat in two different weights (22 and 30 pounds) and their easy to install base.

Chicco Cortina Travel System

Starting with the car seat, the KeyFit has been rated as the #1 car seat and has several design features that make it both safe and convenient. The car seat has a five point harness and a well cushioned seat for the best combination of safety and comfort. There is a removable newborn insert that allows you to use the seat from birth and depending on the model all the way up to either 20 or 30 pounds. Our recommendation is to choose the 30 pound system as it keeps the child in a rear facing position which is the safest position that an infant can be in. The only reason not to do this is if you are unable to lift and carry thirty pounds, then a traditional car seat may be better for you.

The car seat base is probably the best design we’ve seen. It has a self leveling, spring loaded design that makes it easy to install. Also the latch management system with clear instructions on using the seat belt vs. the safety latches helps to install the base. Plus the base is pretty much all enclosed so you don’t have to worry about it damaging your car seat (particularly important on leather seats).

Finally the Chicco Travel System uses the Cortina stroller, which is their main full size stroller model. It has an aluminum frame making it nice and light, and it utilizes a one handed folding design for when you only have one hand free (which is pretty often). When using the travel system, the car seat snaps neatly into place making it easy to transfer your baby from stroller to car seat and back and when they graduate from the car seat, you can use the stroller all the way up to 50 pounds. There is a multi position reclining option that has a memory so after you’ve folded it up, it will go back to the last reclining position when opened. The Cortina stroller also features a number of hand storage compartments such as a large covered compartment for pacifiers, keys, cell phone, small toys; a full-size cup holder, as well as a basket under the stroller for any and all shopping you may do. The stroller has an all wheel suspension and also has adjustable leg supports to make the height more comfortable for taller parents.

Are Maclaren Baby Strollers Safe?

It’s scary as a parent to not be able to trust a baby product. You want to be able to rely on things like baby strollers to keep your child safe; after all you’ve got enough other things to worry about. Your life with a child is chaotic enough and then you try to squeeze in time to go for a jog. I’ve found it incredibly hard to find the time to run without my baby and as reluctant as I was to get a jogging stroller, I’ve found that it’s necessary in order to keep in shape. One of the reasons I was so reluctant is because typically they cost way more than a typical stroller, but fortunately I was able to find some cheap baby strollers so I had a couple to choose from.

But the more I use my jogging stroller, the more I realize that it’s not just better for jogging. We use our jogging stroller for just about every situation except for the mall or any shopping areas. First of all the jogging strollers have bigger wheels so it’s much easier to push around, so for walking around town or even taking off road through the park. Also because it has a large swivel wheel the steering tends to be much better, like when you’re at a crowded street fair it’s much easier to maneuver. The one drawback about our jogger is that it’s fairly bulky to load into a vehicle. It barely fits in the trunk of our car, so unless you’re willing to struggle getting it in and out of a car or you have an SUV, then you might not want a jogger, cheap or not. Our jogger does fold up which helps but it’s not as small as our other strollers.

Get a stroller with a swivel wheel – many of the jogging strollers nowadays comes with a swiveling wheel up front, but if you’re looking at the cheap joggers, you have to be careful. It’s practically essential and if you find a jogger that doesn’t have it, it’s not worth it no matter how cheap it is.

Check the weight and size limits – Some of the cheap jogging strollers are designed for smaller baby or specifically for larger kids. Now if that’s all you are looking for that’s fine, but to get the most bang for your buck, and to ensure that you keep running. A good running stroller will support a baby as it grows so you don’t have to worry about the baby’s comfort, just strap them in and start jogging.

As with all travel systems, the Qauttro Tour Deluxe does an excellent job combining comfort and convenience by having an infant portable car seat that can snap into a base in the car or onto the stroller. What’s more is that because the car seat is so plush and comfortable you can feel guilt-free in letting your baby sleep in it for anywhere from a few hours to even overnight.
